Identity verification data: Government ID images and selfie verification — stored privately and never displayed on your public profile. Usage data: Profile views, connection requests, messages, and activity timestamps used to power features and safety systems.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the platform, verify identities, match you with compatible members, deliver messages and notifications, moderate content for safety, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Identity Verification
To maintain a trusted community, we require identity verification before profiles become visible. Your government ID and verification selfie are stored securely, accessible only to our review team, and never shared with other members. Once verified, your verification status is permanent — we do not re-request your documents unless there is a specific security concern.
5. Messaging & Media
All voice and video messages are processed through our moderation system to detect harmful content before delivery. Message transcripts may be generated for moderation and translation purposes. Your private conversations are only visible to you and your connection — not to other members.
6. Data Retention
We retain your profile and message data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, which removes your profile from the directory and initiates deletion of your stored data. Identity verification documents may be retained for a limited period to comply with legal obligations and fraud prevention.
7. Consent
By creating an account and using The Jewish Connection, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us. Where we require consent for specific activities (such as identity verification), we request it at the point of collection.
8. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language preference, and analytics cookies to understand platform usage. 10. Your Rights

11. Data Deletion
You can delete your account and request deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so: (1) Log in and visit My Profile to remove your profile from the directory, or (2) Contact us through the Contact page with the subject "Delete my account" and we will remove your profile, photos, videos, messages, and associated data. Identity verification documents may be retained for a limited period where required by law or for fraud prevention. Requests are processed within 30 days.
12. Security
We employ industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission, private storage for sensitive documents, and row-level access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.
